Life Cycle of Robotic Process Automation

Complexity and Variance of Robotic Process Automation are very simple and hence RPA is more efficient when compared to any other automation strategy or process.

The life cycle of Robotic Process Automation comprises of following stages:

  1. Analysis
  2. Bots & Development
  3. Testing
  4. Deployment and Maintenance

Here we will enunciate the facts.

1. Analysis: The analysis is the beginning phase of RPA’s life cycle. The business analyst team along with RPA architect work altogether and identifies the requirements of the client’s process. The team uses development methodology and develop a strategy by creating PDD ( Process Definition Document) to automate task which describes the information of each step in complete process. Next step is to create an Object Model Diagram to understand the flow of a process. Followed by approval of documental approach by stakeholders.

2. Bots Development: In development phase automation scripts which are created by developers or business analyst with the help of RPA tools ( Automation Anywhere, UI Path, Blue Prism). It depends on the kind of automation, the coding may be or may not be involved. The bots development process taken out in a different environment. In Robotic Process Automation work on Wizard-driven process and hence limited coding is required.

3. Testing: Post-development, testing is conducted by the testing team where the QA team includes agile methodology. Testing can be done in two ways: RPA development testing and Specific testing tool. Depending upon automation type, organization and requirements, testing can be carried out via bot that brings in either the development team or separate dedicated QA team to work on a dedicated QA environment or pre-production environment.

4. Deployment and Maintenance: Post successful completion of all activities up to the testing phase, it enters into the maintenance phase, Now the bot is ready for deployment. Once deployed, it will be monitored continually, if seems any issue then it will undergo checking over to development and testing team. Every change done gets updated at regular intervals.
