Robotic Process Automation is an application of technology for automating software with the help of robots to automate any business process without any human intervention. In the workplace, RPA is used to automate labour-intensive day to day processes by freeing up high-value employees and to be used for more productive jobs.
Robots are extensively evolving today and have massive exponential growth into the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning which allows robots to make decisions and predictions.

RPA comprises of three basic building blocks:
- Robotic: A robot which is capable of being programmed by the computer in order to perform complex tasks and is known as robots.
- Process: A process is a sequence of activities or tasks taken into consideration required to achieve meaningful activity and the desired result.
- Automation: When the robotic component combines with the process which will result in an activity to let happen automatically and it is done without human intervention.
